Join me for a fun, supportive painting workshop that encourages connection and self-expression through painting!
As a local landscape artist and mental health support worker, I began painting in 2018 and discovered the healing power of art. Painting has become a vital part of my well-being toolkit, and I would like to share this with others and explore how creativity can support your own well-being.
This is not an art class, I'm not here to teach you how to paint, and it isn't about creating a masterpiece. I’ll provide you with the tools to bring colours and shapes to life in a way that feels right for you. It’s a fun, expressive, and creative outlet that doesn't need to make sense—just a space to play with different themes and ideas. It is also a chance to connect with others and share stories in a supported environment. Each session will be structured differently, and we'll start with a grounding exercise to help you settle in.
Not sure if this is for you? Here are some benefits I believe this workshop could offer:
Healing through Painting: There's plenty of research supporting the healing benefits of creative expression. Personally, painting and spending time in nature have helped me navigate some challenging times.
Creative Expression: Creativity is unique to each of us. This workshop is about discovering what resonates with you, finding the colors, shapes, and textures that emerge from within, rather than comparing yourself to others.
You Might Surprise Yourself: Every artist starts somewhere, and over time, we all improve. You might surprise yourself with what you create, or you may simply find joy and humour in the process. Either way, it’s a chance to explore and enjoy.
Connection with Others: Connecting with others is vital for our mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. Research supports the benefits of spending time with others, sharing stories, and connecting on different levels. This workshop provides a space to reconnect with yourself and others.
I hope you’ll join me and see what unfolds.
If you are a parent, please feel free to bring your kids along. they don't need to participate but if they do please purchase them a ticket.
